Demolición descubierta por extracción de materiales [Demolition unveiled through extraction of materials]. 2015

Architectural intervention, Tlatelolco Cultural Center, Mexico City.

This work is a sort of archeological unveiling of the works made to communicate two different buildings from the former Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in order to get a large exhibition space, when the transformation of the abandoned compound to convert it into Centro Cultural Tlatelolco (memorial of the student massacre of 1968 in its location). Those buildings had their walls partially demolished to connect each other, leaving them in a brutal condition and covered with drywall as a make up.
The intervention consisted in taking all the drywall off, showing the real way both buildings were interconnected.
