Four Letters. 2023
Live Action 18 Performance Festival, Gothenburg, Sweden.
Performance in public space.
The first part of the action was performed outside the Gothenburg City Library.
Four letters were cut out of plywood boards, then placed against the windows of the Library’s exhibition hall, forming the acronym NATO.
An allusion to Sweden’s accession process to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, which had not been discussed by Swedish society and which broke with 50 years of neutrality of that country.
Two days after the first action, the four cut-out letters were placed on a facade of the City Hall, in front of which there was a Kurdish cultural festival.
This context was very meaning as the Kurdish refugees in Sweden were the bargaining chip demanded by Turkey to accept Swedish membership in NATO.
