Estructura construida por policías de las fuerzas especiales antiterroristas y tres armas automáticas. [Structure built by members of the anti terrorist-special forces and three automatic guns], 2004
Action. Izhevsk, Russia.
Cube-shaped wooden structure built by militarized policemen and shot with three guns designed by Mihail Kalashnikov: an AK-103 assault riffle, a “Saigá” shotgun and a PKM machine gun. This work refers to violence in the Russian context—to its massive weapon industry (Izhevsk is the city where most Russian handguns are made) and an increasingly militarized society—in relation to modernist sculpture and the rationalist utopia.
